جهت انتقال انرژی چرخشی از موتور به سر میل سوپاپ از تسمه تایم و یا زنجیر تایم استفاده میشودعلاوه بر انتقال انرژی جهت چرخش میل سوپاپ میبایست ارتباط زمانی و هماهنگی بین میل لنگ و میل سوپاپ داشته باشد تا در زمان مناسب وضعیت سوپاپ هانسبت به پیستون تغییر کندکه در سنکرون سازی نقش کلیدی دارد و در وضعیت سوپاپ‎ها و پیستون‎های خودروهای موتور احتراقی رفت و برگشتی نقش مهمی ایفا می نماید، تسمه تایم خودرو دارای پروفیل دندانه منحنی بزرگتر و مستحکم‌تری برای افزایش ظرفیت دارد و دندانه‌های الاستومری با شکل و فاصله دقیق، قرارگیری صحیح در شیارهای پولی را تضمین می‌کندو شکل دندانه منحنی ویژه، توزیع تنش را بهبود می‌بخشد و امکان بارگذاری کلی بالاتر را فراهم می‌کند. استفاده از نئوپرن در برابر دوده، گریس، روغن و رطوبت را محافظت می‌کند بطور کلی یک نوار لاستیکی میتوان گفت  بصورت چند لایه ی تقویت شده است که عملیات سنکرون سازی بین موتور شامل تنفس، تراکم، احتراق و تخلیه با زمان‎بندی دقیق را بین موتور و سر سیلندر و نیم موتور را انجام میدهد .با توجه به این اینکه براثر گردش تسمه دچار فرسایش درلایه های مختلف می گردد و سایش ایجاد شده باعث نفوذ رطوبت و دمای بالاکنار موتور باعث کاهش میزان الاستومتری تسمه می گردد باید در مسافت پیموده شده مطابق دستوالعمل سازنده که در دفترچه راهنمای وسیله نقلیه و یا کاتالوگ  قطعه موجود است تعویض شود.

The special curved tooth shape improves stress distribution and allows for higher overall loading. The use of neoprene protects against soot, grease, oil, and moisture. In general, a rubber belt can be said to be a reinforced multi-layered belt that synchronizes the engine, including breathing, compression, combustion, and exhaust, with precise timing between the engine and the cylinder head and engine block. Considering that due to the rotation of the belt, it undergoes erosion in different layers, and the abrasion caused by moisture penetration and high temperatures near the engine reduces the elastomericity of the belt, it must be replaced at the mileage according to the manufacturer's instructions, which are available in the vehicle manual or parts catalog.
